Gemelos 22
In the list of tallest buildings, Gemelos 22 is the second-tallest twin pair in the ‘Gemelos’ series after Gemelos 26. The two towers on Avenida L'Ametlla de Mar are less a residential block than a holiday complex with three pools and two tennis courts.
The story
The first tower was finished in 2003, the second in 2004; both measure 100.2 metres with 32 floors. The towers stand side by side in upper Rincón de Loix, around 450 metres from Levante beach, with the market hall and a bus stop outside the door. All apartments face south and look out over the garden and pools.
The complex is tailored to holidaymakers: two outdoor pools, an indoor pool heated to around 30 degrees, a children’s pool with play equipment, two tennis courts, a football pitch, mini-golf, pétanque, a gym and a library. The apartments are small, 57 square metres with one bedroom, 67 with two. Letting is through operators such as Siroco and Fincas Benidorm, with their own reception.
In 2024 a large package came onto the market: the company CCI took over exclusive sales of 111 furnished apartments in the complex, all with tourist licences, advertised as investment properties. Who the seller is, the report does not say; the property services firm Servihabitat is tagged on the page.
Nothing public can be found about the developer, architect and contractor. ‘Gemelos’ is a brand in Benidorm under which twin towers have been numbered in sequence for decades; the 22 is a number, not a house number. The towers are not to be confused with Gemelos 28 at Punta Llisera, which has been the subject of court battles for years.
