Tropic-Mar
The Tropic-Mar stands on Calle Bonn, 150 metres from Levante beach in Rincón de Loix. With 28 floors it is one of the few tall buildings from the early nineties.
The story
The tower was finished in 1991, with 92.6 metres and 28 floors. The year makes it special: the big towers of the first wave, Torre Coblanca and Torre Levante, had long been built, and the boom with Neguri Gane and the Gran Hotel Bali only began at the end of the decade. In between came a small building wave in the early nineties: Londres II (1990), Costa Blanca II (1991), Gemelos 12 (1992), Costa Blanca I (1993).
The complex is let as Apartamentos Tropic Mar. It lies two minutes from the beach and from the promenade with its bars and restaurants, within walking distance of Aqualandia, the casino and the Benidorm Palace. Its facilities include a garden with a seasonal pool, a tennis court, an underground garage and terraces with sea views.
Nothing more is documented. Developer, architect and contractor appear in no available source, nor does the number of apartments. The technical data come solely from Spanish Wikipedia, which relies on an entry in the now defunct Emporis database.
