Hotel Flamingo Oasis
The Flamingo Oasis is one of Benidorm’s tallest hotels, 26 floors in upper Rincón de Loix. It is run by MedPlaya, a chain that began in Benidorm in 1967.
The story
According to the Spanish Wikipedia list the building was finished in 2000, 95 metres tall with 26 floors. That places it in the wave of large hotel buildings around the turn of the millennium, shortly before the Gran Hotel Bali. It stands at Avenida Severo Ochoa 3, near Gemelos 22.
The operator is MedPlaya. The chain was founded in 1967, then still under a different name, and built its first hotels in Benidorm in 1967 and 1968. Today it runs hotels on the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca and Costa Dorada, in the Maresme and on the Costa Brava. The Flamingo Oasis is advertised with a pool and entertainment programme and in 2026 was among the top ten per cent of rated hotels according to Tripadvisor.
Hardly anything more is publicly available. Who built and designed the hotel, exactly when it opened and whether it has been remodelled cannot be documented. One hotel portal gives 398 rooms and a construction year of 2001, the regional tourism register 361 rooms with 724 beds; the address is Avenida Severo Ochoa 3.
