Londres II
Little is known about Londres II. 91 metres, 28 floors, built in 1990 – and a façade of exposed concrete that was extensively repaired in 2011 and 2016.
The story
Londres II appears in the list of tallest buildings at 91 metres and 28 floors, built in 1990. The usual databases yield no more: no developer, no architect, no number of apartments. The name refers to London, as many Benidorm buildings are named after European cities and regions. Whether there is a ‘Londres I’ could not be established. A contractor’s project page places the building on Avenida Andalucía.
What is documented is the history of repairs. The contractor Vázquez de la Huerta describes Londres II as a building with structural damage: spalled slab edges, numerous cracks in the exposed-concrete façades. In 2011 the owners’ association, under the architect Ricardo Llácer Bueno, had the façades fully repaired and sealed. In 2016 came new waterproofing and new terrazzo in the entrance areas. The work was done from an aerial platform; where it could not reach, rope-access technicians hung on ropes.

Open questions
- Location: the coordinates come from a geocoder entry, the address ‘Avenida Andalucía’ from a company page – neither cross-checked.
- Developer, architect, contractor and number of apartments are not documented.
- Regalado (2014) names Ricardo Llácer as architect of four 28-storey Edibesa towers in Benidorm; Londres II has 28 floors, and Llácer led the 2011 repair. Whether he was also the original architect is not documented.
