Edificio Kronos
Kronos was completed in 2008 – just as the financial crisis began. For almost ten years nearly all of its apartments remained unsold.

The story
The Valencia-based developer García Ojeda built the tower from 2005 to 2008, not far from Neguri Gane. With two pools, a spa, and padel and tennis courts, it was meant to attract buyers at the top end of the market. But during the crisis the developer became caught up in several insolvency proceedings.
Through the bailout of the savings banks, Kronos ended up with Sareb, the state-run bad bank. It offered the apartments from €97,176. Finally, in March 2018, an unnamed English investment fund bought 136 apartments for more than €20 million.
Good to know
- The tower covers less than 20 per cent of its plot – typical of Benidorm’s building rules.
- Staggered balconies create a mirror effect on the façade.
Open questions
