No. 12 in the Top 20
Torre Levante
In 1985 Torre Levante became Benidorm’s first building over 100 metres, and it remained the tallest until 2001/02. To this day it is the only tower of this size directly on Levante beach.

The story
Each floor covers only around 220 square metres. That makes the tower extremely slender – about nine times as tall as it is wide. The structural engineers coupled small shear walls on the 1st, 8th, 18th and 35th floors with beams; in the wind, the top moves 14 to 18 centimetres.
In 2014 a civil engineering journal confirmed that the tower had gone more than 20 years without any problems with its structure. Only the render had cracked.
