The story
The list of tallest buildings in Benidorm gives ‘Nuevo Benidorm’ 58th place: 85.9 metres, 26 floors, completed in 1992. The figure comes from the now defunct Emporis database. None of the sources reviewed gives an address, a district or a photo. The name does not appear in the SkyscraperPage and SkyDB databases either.
The year fits a phase in which Benidorm was building upwards again in the early 1990s: Londres 2 (1990), Costa Blanca 2 (1991), Gemelos 12 (1992), Torre Soinsa (1993). Gemelos 12, at 85 metres, is almost the same height and was finished in the same year.
‘Nuevo Benidorm’ is probably a database name under which a building goes that is called something else locally. The height of 85.9 metres is striking: the list gives the same value for Torre Capri, Torre San Remo and Sierra de Bernia, all likewise with 26 floors. That points to an estimate from the number of floors rather than a measurement. For now this page remains a placeholder.
